The cherished memories of summer vacations are so often dotted with the unexpected roadside attraction. On Shuswap Lake, unlike other lakes in our region, there is over 405 kilometres of shoreline meaning there are plenty of waterside attractions to discover as well.
From the iconic Shark Shack floating in the Narrows, to the fun in the sun on Moose Mulligan’s patio in Sicamous, these, along with many other local food and watering holes, are accessible by boat. If you’d like a round of golf with that, at the MaraHills Golf Resort on neighbouring Mara Lake, you can dock your boat at their marina.

Just a paddle away, Top Jimmy’s Canoe Beach Cafe is accessible from the boat launch at Canoe Beach. Its legendary zombie burgers and lobster rolls can now be enjoyed with a selection of local libations on their bright, umbrella covered, licensed patio.
Heading to downtown Salmon Arm about ten minutes further by boat, you can enjoy ice cream at the end of the Salmon Arm Wharf or wander up the pier for sushi at Nineteen 05, a coffee at the Underpass Cafe or a appetizer at Don Cherry’s all located in the Prestige Inn Harbourfront Resort.
If you head over Sunnybrae way, drop anchor and check out Sunnybrae Vineyards & Winery’s brand new covered patio to sample their fine offerings.
In the South Shuswap, where the beach vibe is alive and well, FINZ Resort and Restaurant and Bayside Marine & Grill never disappoint and capping the day with a South Shuswap sunset is always a good idea.
Last, but not least, it’s the Scotch Creek Hub in the North Shuswap, just moments from the Shuswap Lake Provincial Park, where you can tie up and wander over for a sweet treat, a great bite or a quick round of mini golf at the neighbouring fun centre.
