It is December and the holiday season is here! With that brings the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping. Browse and shop at our local boutiques and stores, they’ve got what you need and likely a little more. Our retailers are keen to meet your needs and offer a thoughtful selection of goods and goodies, clothing and footwear, gifts and books, housewares and art pieces, local favourites and holiday must haves.
We want to make shopping local easy for you this year, so we have put together the Shuswap 2020 Holiday Gift Guide for you below!
Salmon Arm -The holiday season is upon us and Salmon Arm boasts a city full of amazing shops with gifts to satisfy everyone on your list–naughty and nice! If downtown shopping sparkles your interest, there are several promotions put on by our local Downtown Salmon Arm Association (DSA), and keep your eye out for special Elves walking around! DSA along with our local credit union, SASCU, are passing out $5 “Downtown Dollars” to people wandering the core. These dollars can be spent at any of the participating downtown shops. With any luck, you might “Get Elfed” too!
South Shuswap – The South Shuswap Chamber of commerce has put together a Holiday Gift Giving Guide to help prepare you for the holiday season –uncover a treasure-trove of amazing items that everyone on your list will love. We are sure you will find something for even that most difficult person to buy for on your list. And, the best part is, many of these retailers are part of the Shop the South Shuswap Passport Campaign. Each time you visit participating retailers you will receive a stamp for your shopping passport. For every stamp earned you will receive one entry into the grand gift basket draw on January 31st, 2021. Passports can be picked up at retailers listed on this link.
Passports can be dropped off into the entry box at Munro’s IDA until January 31.
North Shuswap – Will be sharing local business specials on their Facebook page over the next couple of weeks. Make sure you check it out!
Sicamous & Area – Check out the 12 Days of Christmas in Sicamous. The Sicamous & District Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Centre will be posting a new special each day and these will be shared on their Facebook page.
Enderby – Downtown Enderby is featuring their businesses virtually this year. Take a virtual tour of your favourite store on the Enderby Chamber’s YouTube channel. You can get a look at the stores and even place inquiries or set up prepaid, curbside pickup orders!
Also, the Chamber has its long-standing Enderbucks gift certificate promotion – Contact the Chamber directly to get Enderbucks, which you can spend like cash at local retailers.
Armstrong & Spallumcheen – There is no lack of options from Armstrong and Spallumacheen this year. Keep your eye on the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page – everyday they will post ideas for small gifts and stocking stuffers. Also join them for a Social Media Scavenger Hunt (Merry & Bright [add link]). Finally, take advantage of the local holiday coupon book available for pick up at the Chamber office. While you are there check out the ‘pop up’ shop featuring many of the local artisans who have cancelled fairs and festivals.
