Salmon Arm Curling Club is very excited to be hosting our second annual BC Tour event. This year’s event will see some of the best teams in BC compete this weekend for $10k in prize money. They will have both local, regional, provincial, and international team representation.
Curling starts Friday, November 11th at 1 PM with two other Friday draws at 4:30 and 8 PM. It continues on Saturday with three games at 10 AM, 2 PM, and 7 PM. Semi Finals and Finals will be on Sunday at 9 AM and 1 PM respectively.
Team details from the Salmon Arm Curling Club:
Team Belway is a local team of exceptional curlers who are always at the top of the standings in our club and came in 3rd in last year’s inaugural event. Team Blaeser is a Vernon Junior Team with two boys from Salmon Arm.
Team Geall is skipped by Salmon Arm Curler Sean Geall, a two-time BC Men’s curling champion and thus two Brier appearances.
We are also very pleased to have Team Sato represent our international contingent, skipped by Hayato Sato of Japan. He has curled out of BC before but now makes his home in Sapporo, Japan currently curls out of the Sapporo International University.
There is no admission, so all curling fans are welcome. This is an awesome opportunity to watch our game played locally at a very high skill level.
Participating concurrently to the BC Men’s Tour event will be a four team round robin with a couple of junior teams from Kelowna and two other rinks from Salmon Arm. Team Jaeger is a junior men’s team and Team Rempel is a junior lady’s team who is getting prepared for their appearance at the Canada Winter Games in PEI in February.
We hope to see you at the rink!
