Shuswap Coffee House

November 19, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$4.00

The next Coffee House evening will be held November 19 th at Gleneden Hall located at 5151 49 th Street NW, just west of Salmon Arm, off the TransCanada Highway, opposite Pierre’s Point Road.

Organized by Wildwood Productions and the Gleneden Association, the musical acts performed by talented locals, which have included a variety of styles, have also been very well received. Coffee House nights will continue through to spring, except for during December, on the third Saturday of each month. Humans and music have been connected seemingly forever. A flute, carved from a vulture’s wing bone, discovered in a cave in southern Germany is the oldest
known musical instrument on earth—indicating people have been making music for over 40,000 years. The human brain loves patterns. And abstract though be, music triggers emotions, as well as engaging the human ‘reward’ system. It
lightens our mood, boosts memory, and reduces anxiety. In addition, making music and listening to it establishes a special set of relationships, and in that lies the meaning of the performance—undeniable links form between the performer and audience members, regardless of the type of music being heard.

Shuswap Coffee House doors will open at 6:30 pm for performer registrations and audience attendees, with the programme starting at 7:00 pm. A few spots can be booked in advance for out-of-town performers. Call 250.832.2300 to reserve.
Beverages and snacks will be available. Admission fee is $4.00. In the interest of health safety, COVID protocols currently will be optional. Music and the arts – a great way to add tunes and fun to your weekends.
