? What is a Drum Circle?
Gathering community in a place of love and support is what ICDC (integrated community drum circle) is all about. There is no need for any previous drumming experience as we keep the rhythms simple and melodic. At times it can feel like a meditation, as focus is brought to the drum and all other thoughts get carried away by the rhythm.
Drums and other percussion instruments are provided with a variety of drums, with origins from different regions of the world. Djembes, Tubanos, frame drums. Participants can also bring their own instruments
Another element of the ICDC is a rhythm cradle. Offering the space to feel supported, as a group of participants sit in a circle while others use the frame drums walking around the circle all following the same rhythm. It can be thought of almost as being in the womb feeling the heartbeat of the mother.
