The world has changed
That much we know
The grapes however, still will grow
The sun will rise
The rain will fall
The wine still flows despite it all
Shuswap Wineries, Part One – Armstrong, Enderby, Grindrod and Salmon Arm
By Louise Wallace Richmond
It’s a sunny Saturday in the early days of another Shuswap summer. While we aren’t able to welcome as many visitors as we’re used to, we can most certainly support our amazing tourism businesses as they navigate these challenging times. You can also support them online through liking and sharing their social media posts on Facebook, Twitter and, or Instagram.
First in this weekly series, we feature our amazing wineries all of which are operational and offering a variety of on site, community markets and curb side or delivery options. This week we visit
Armstrong, Enderby, Grindrod and Salmon Arm.
Edge of the Earth Vineyards in Armstrong will be on site at the weekly farmer’s markets in Armstrong and Enderby. If you can’t make it there, please call their landline (250-546-2164) and they will make safe arrangements to deliver to you. They’ve already bottled the bubbly for when we can celebrate together again.
Baccata Ridge Winery in Grindrod, is known for its red, blush, and blueberry wines as well as its mead. The wine shop now open for tastings in addition to pre-ordered curb site pick up and orders can be placed by phone (250-517-7051) or by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or visit their online shop at baccataridgewinery.ca/buy-wine-online
Waterside Vineyard & Winery in Enderby is offering a 6 bottle Quarantine In Home Tasting Set delivered to your home; 3 whites, 1 rose, 2 reds and many a lovely Shuswap sunset to enjoy. The store is open for wine sales, curb side pick up and delivery is available.
Larch Hills Winery and Vineyard in Salmon Arm is North America’s highest elevated winery and the drive up is nearly as stunning as the view from the top. Their wine shop is open daily from 9 to 5 for sales and tasting respecting social distancing measures. Curb side delivery is also available.
Marionette Winery in Salmon Arm’s online wine shop is open. You can call for delivery or arrange for pick up if you live nearby. Check out vintner Jamie’s video blog to enjoy a virtual wine tasting experience from the comfort of your living room.
