16th Annual Heritage Week  February 2011 At the Mall At Piccadilly
“A Century of Conservation Parks and Cultural Landscapes” Heritage displays by R.J. Haney and various other groups plus entertainment all week. We also have a silent auction for 3 days and on the Saturday an old fashioned pie contest, live pie auction, craft stations for the kids and a pancake breakfast. This is a partnership event between R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum and the Mall at Piccadilly. This years theme is celebrating parks and protected areas.

Easter Egg Hunt Sorrento / Blind Bay - April
This annual event is sponsored by the Sorrento Lions Club & River of Life Church. This event is free to all; Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Bonnet Competition, Hot Chocolate & Hot Dogs. The Easter Bunny will arrive via the South Shuswap Volunteer Fire Departments Fire Truck.

Salty Dog 6-Hour Enduro Mountain Bike Race May 2012

Century Ride - May
The Okanagan-Shuswap Century Ride is a fun, recreational event for cyclists of all abilities. This wonderful sightseeing extravaganza has a festive atmosphere and is something the whole family can enjoy. Choose to do the full 100km ride, the half-century 50km ride or the shorter 14km ride. Falkland Stampede & Rodeo
It started in 1919, just after the war, as a picnic which has grown over the years to a three day rodeo. People from all over the world have come to our little town to take in this jam packed, fun filled stampede. Professional cowboys participate for prizes worth over $45,000.For over 90 years the volunteers have worked hard to make this May long weekend one you will never forget!

Shuswap Lake International Writers Festival
The Shuswap Lake International Writers Festival brings together poets, writers, publishers and storytellers over a three day festival. WOW Wednesday on the Wharf
WOW! is a series of summer Wednesday evening musical concerts at Salmon Arm's Marine Park. Musical styles ranging from jazz to rock, funk to folk are offered from June through to the end of August. Held in the Park's gazebo, listeners are invited to bring a deck chair or blanket and enjoy the music. Concerts begin at 7pm, and go until 8:30pm. Admission is by donation.

Shuswap Lake Accordion Festival June

Beat the Train Triathlon

Dinner Theatre – July 3 - August Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday through July and August, R.J. Haney Heritage Village offers a dinner and play depicting the life and times of historical characters. Come and see our lively actors put on this production written and directed by a local playwright.

Annual Salmon Arm Classic Triathlon

Pioneer Day
Celebrate our pioneer heritage at R.J.Haney Heritage Village & Museum. Experience an old-time 1910 Country Fair. Begin the day with our pancake breakfast; explore the historic displays and demonstrations, old fashioned games, music and then a BBQ lunch or a super sized ice-cream cone. Fun for the whole family!

Shuswap Rock Club Open House Show and Sale
Annual Show and Sale - members enjoy searching for and creating art objects from the rocks and minerals found throughout the area. At the club’s summer sale, members feature demonstrations of lapidary, wire-wrapping, bead making and soap stone carving plus provide interesting activities for children and adults alike. Among items for sale are crystals, soapstone, glass beads, rock specimens, and jewellery made by members. Admission to the show is free. This sale has become well known for the quality and variety of pottery and clay art that can be found. Literally everything from soup-bowls to sculpture. Shuswap Festival of The Arts

The yearly mid-July Festival activities include: a juried art show lasting 10 days, with 300-400 entries are juried and awarded. As well, the people’s choice awards are great fun to see what the general public thinks is the best. Other events not to miss are: Children’s Art Day on the Wednesday, artist’s demonstrations, gift shop, art sales, raffle, writer’s coffee house and tea room. After 25 years of providing this venue to showcase local Shuswap art and a learning atmosphere they have achieved their goals and much more. There is a cost for admission. High Country Pottery Show

Come and enjoy the display of classic, antique and new automobilesalong with several vendors displaying heritage items and wares. The Shuswap Vintage Car Club and others from the surrounding area as well as local dealers show off their classic cars. Enoy music and stoll through the Vendor's Village. Help pick the “Peoples Choice” as you chat it up with the car owners.

Roots & Blues Festival - August
The Salmon Arm Folk Music Society has been an active member of the community for over two and half decades through the presentation of our yearly concert series and the Annual Roots and Blues Festival. The Festival has become a prominent link on the national festival circuit and is considered among the top roots festivals in Canada, while our concerts have offered the local region a diverse range of Canadian and international artists that educate, entertain and challenge audiences to expand their musical horizons.
